Ingredients

  • Four chicken breasts, each about 150 to 180 grams
  • Olive oil
  • Brown sugar
  • Paprika
  • Dried oregano or thyme
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for a pretty touch (optional)

How to Make

  1. Preheat your oven to 220 °C (425 °F).
  2. Gently flatten each chicken breast so they are even in thickness. This helps them cook evenly and stay tender.
  3. Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, oregano or thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Line a baking tray with foil and parchment paper.
  5. Place the chicken breast on the tray upside down. Drizzle some olive oil, rub it in with your fingers, then sprinkle on about half of the seasoning on that side.
  6. Flip the chicken, add a bit more oil, rub again, and sprinkle the rest of the seasoning so both sides are coated as well as possible.
  7. Bake for 18 minutes or until the top turns golden and matches the caramelized look in the pictures, or until the inside is fully cooked.
  8. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Sprinkle parsley on top if you want a fresh look and flavor.
